Memories

Do you remember friend
Our long walks along the street
Our black shadows that grew up
When the night fell down?
Do you remember then
Our mighty faith in our ideals
Like justice, equality and friendship?
We were so passionate

In my mind I have all these memories
Of that far, infinite time
Of our souls so close to Heaven
Of our crazy hearts beating with frenzy
I was always happy, anything could me feel so
We talked about politics and love
About music, about all the adults' affairs
And we didn't count the days

A long time ago, the time went by

I was fond of you because
You got personality and brain
'Cause you always had a word for me
And your smile was so shining
"You smoke too much!" once I said
"If you want, I'll stop" you replied
I don't care if you stop for me
I just want you to live for yourself

Where are you now, what are you doing?
Do you sometimes think about us?
We're no more young
We have responsibilities, we've no more time
Did you get lost somewhere
Without finding a place to escape to?
I'd have run any moment to save you
Why have we both let each other fade?
